Drew Brees named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Buccaneers performance

Drew Brees passed for 381 yards and four touchdowns in the Saints' 42-17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week, the NFL announced Tuesday.

This marks the third time this season the Saints captain has earned the honor and the fourth time a Saints players has received it as Jimmy Graham won the weekly award for week three.

In his 13th season from Purdue, this is Brees' 19th career Player of the Week Award. Since joining the Saints in 2006, Brees has won 17 Player of Week Awards, tied for most in the NFL with New England Patriots QB Tom Brady.
