Drew Brees named finalist for FedEx Air Player of the Year award

Brees competing against Patrick Mahomes and Philip Rivers

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has been named a finalist for the FedEx Air Player of the Year award, the league and FedEx announced Friday, Jan. 4.

Brees will be competing against Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers. Fans can vote for Brees at nfl.com/fedex or via a Twitter poll on the official NFL handle, @nfl. FedEx will donate $20,000 to the USO in the winning player's name.

The winner will be announced at the NFL Honors awards show Saturday, Feb. 2.

Brees, in his 18th season, led the NFL with a 115.7 passer ratings and 74.4 completion percentage while leading the Saints to a 13-3 record and the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs. He passed for 3,992 yards with 32 touchdowns and five interceptions.
