The New Orleans Saints (1-8) look to bounce back this week and reverse a four-game losing streak in playing in their last contest until after a Week 11 bye, when they play the Carolina Panthers (5-4) in a division contest at Bank of America Stadium.

The Saints will be looking to improve their record to 2-8 with four of their next five games in the NFC South, and even up their division record at 1-1. New Orleans holds a 31-29 regular season advantage over the Panthers in the series and the clubs have split the last eight meetings dating back to the 2021 season.

THIS WEEK IN THE NFC SOUTH: The Atlanta Falcons (3-5), New Orleans' next opponent in Week 12, play the Indianapolis Colts (7-2) on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. CT in Berlin Germany. and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-2) will host the New England Patriots (7-2) on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. CT.

SAINTS vs. PANTHERS SEASON SERIES HISTORY

The Carolina Panthers initially entered the National Football League as an expansion franchise in 1995 and since then, the Saints lead the regular season series 31-29, with New Orleans also picking up the home 2017 NFC Wild Card showdown. The clubs were in the NFC West together from 1995-2001 and the rivalry has continued since it was formed in 2002 divisional realignment. The series is tied at 15-15 on the road. Of the 60 regular season games in the series, 30 have been decided by eight points or less, with the Saints winning 15 of them.

In the regular season games of the series there has been:

  • • 1,339 points scored by New Orleans, 1,252 allowed.
  • A five-game New Orleans winning streak from 2000-02.
  • A four-game New Orleans winning steak in games played at the Caesars Superdome from 1998-2001 and a four-game winning streak at contests played at Bank of America Stadium from 2017-20.

Carolina Panthers 23, New Orleans Saints 22; Nov. 3, 2024 @ Bank of America Stadium - Quarterback Derek Carr returned to the lineup and running back Alvin Kamara had a tremendous performance but it wasn't enough for the New Orleans Saints to end their losing streak as they dropped a 23-22 decision to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in Charlotte. The loss, the tam's seventh straight, dropped New Orleans to 2-7. Carolina ended a five-game losing streak and is 2-7. Saints Assistant Defensive Backs Coach Robert Blanton prepped at David W. Butler (Matthews, N.C.) HS.

Panthers QB Andy Dalton handled starting quarterback duties in New Orleans in 2022.

Saints QB Spencer Rattler, P Kai Kroeger and G Torricelli Simpkins III played at South Carolina, with Rattler and Kroeger being Gamecocks teammates with Panthers WR Xavier Legette and all three playing with Panthers LB Bam Martin-Scott. Simpkins, who prepped at Olympic (Charlotte, N.C.) HS, transferred to South Carolina from North Carolina Central, where he started his college career.

Panthers CB Jaycee Horn's father, Joe Horn, played wideout for the Saints from 2000-2006 and is a member of the team's Hall of Fame.

Panthers Senior Defensive Assistant Dom Capers served as secondary coach of the Saints from 1986-91.

Saints Head Coach Kellen Moore played quarterback for Panthers Senior Coaching Advisor Jim Caldwell for the Detroit Lions in 2014, when Caldwell was the Lions head coach in his first season with the club. Moore tutored Panthers RB Rico Dowdle with the Dallas Cowboys as offensive coordinator from 2020-22, where he was also a teammate of Richards and New Orleans WR Brandin Cooks.
