Check out the game action photos from the New Orleans Saints game against the Carolina Panthers for Week 9 of the 2024 NFL Season on Nov. 3, 2024 at Bank of America Stadium.

Quarterback Derek Carr returned to the lineup and running back Alvin Kamara had a tremendous performance but it wasn't enough for the New Orleans Saints to end their losing streak as they dropped a 23-22 decision to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in Charlotte.

The loss, the tam's seventh straight, dropped New Orleans to 2-7. Carolina ended a five-game losing streak and is 2-7. The last time the Saints lost seven consecutive games was during the 1999 season.

Carolina running back Chubba Hubbard won the game on a 16-yard touchdown run with 2:18 to play. The Saints took possession at their 20-yard line but were stopped at midfield on a fourth-and-four pass play that fell incomplete.

The Saints scored on a 7-yard run by Taysom Hill, a 17-yard touchdown pass from Carr to tight end Foster Moreau and a three Blake Grupe field goals. Carr, who missed the previous three games with an oblique injury, was 18 of 31 for 236. Kamara had his best game of the season with 29 carries for 155 yards and six catches for 60 yards. He is now 13 yards short of becoming the franchise's all-time rushing leader.

Star receiver Chris Olave was carted off the field with a head injury and taken to a hospital in the first quarter. He was released and returned to the stadium to fly back to New Orleans with the Saints. Left guard Lucas Patrick left the game in the second half with a calf injury. Another receiver, Cedrick Wilson, left the game in the second quarter with a shoulder injury but returned to play.

Defensive back Shermar Jean-Charles made a great interception in the fourth quarter, taking the ball away from a Carolina receiver. Jean-Charles was just activated from the practice squad after injuries to Marshon Lattimore and Kool-Aid McKinstry.

Punter Matthew Hayball didn't have his best game kicking but he converted a fake punt in the second half which extended a drive that ended in a Grupe field goal.

Penalties were an issue for the Saints, as they were called for 10 for 109 yards.

The Saints will play host to the top team in the NFC South, the Atlanta Falcons, on Sunday, Nov. 10.
