Saints are playing for a playoff spot

Second quarter update: The New Orleans Saints added two more touchdowns in the period Sunday and took a 28-14 lead over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers into halftime at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Brees connected with Robert Meachem on a 41-yard TD pass and with Kenny Stills on a 76-yard scoring pass in the period.

Tampa scored a 1-yard Mike Glennon pass to tight end Tim Wright.

Key stats: Saints, Drew Brees, 17 of 21 for 321 yards and four TDs; Lance Moore, four receptions for 73 yards and a TD. Bucs, Mike Glennon, 13 of 20 for 133 yards and a TD.
