Tampa Bay announced the move Friday morning

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced in a news release Friday that they have placed defensive end Da'Quan Bowers on Injured Reserve and signed defensive lineman Scott Solomon. In his third season from Clemson, Bowers has played in 13 games this season, starting two, totaling seven tackles and one sack.

Solomon (6 feet 3, 262) entered the league as a seventh round pick (211th overall) of the Tennessee Titans in 2012, playing in 13 games, registering nine tackles and three special teams tackles. He played in one game with the New York Jets this season.

A native of San Antonio, Texas, Solomon appeared in 47 games for the Rice Owls, tying the school record for sacks (24) and ranking second in school history in tackles for loss (44). He earned All-Conference-USA honors following his senior season.
