Halftime Update: New England Patriots 22, New Orleans Saints 16 | 2025 NFL Week 6

Patriots will get the ball to start the second half

The New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots engaged in a back-and-forth first half Sunday at the Caesars Superdome with the Pats leading 22-16.

The Saints (1-4) scored on a 1-yard touchdown run by Taysom Hill and three Blake Grupe field goals (34, 48 and 38 yards).

The Patriots scored on three touchdown passes by second-year quarterback Drake Maye, 53 yards to DeMario Douglas and 25 and 29 yards to Kayshon Boutte.

Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler was 12 of 14 for 129 yards, hitting receiver Chris Olave with a 53-yard pass on the first play. But the Saints were forced to settle for the first of Grupe's three field goals. Olave had five receptions for 83 yards. Running back Alvin Kamara had eight carries for 29 yards.

The Saints defense made a big stop on fourth down with 5:50 to play thanks in part to wild snap from the Patriots as the Saints took over the New England 47-yard line. Grupe made his final field goal of the half to give the Saints a 16-14 lead. The Patriots marched down the field on the next possession and took the lead on the second touchdown reception by Boutte.

The Patriots (3-2) will get the ball to start the second half.
