NFL CAREER – Marcus Maye joined the Saints as an unrestricted free agent in 2022, where he teamed on the back end at the safety position with Tyrann Mathieu. Maye, entering his seventh NFL season, first entered the league as a second round draft pick (39th overall) of the New York Jets out of the University of Florida in 2017. He has started all 70 contests he has appeared in for the Jets and Saints, posting career totals of 368 tackles (258 solo), 3.5 sacks for a loss of 19 yards, six interception returns for 148 yards, 26 passes defensed, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and four special teams stops.
