New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has signed unrestricted free agent quarterback Zach Wilson to a one-year contract.

Wilson, 6-2, 214, was originally a first round pick (second overall) by the New York Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft out of BYU. In five seasons with New York (2021-23), the Denver Broncos (2024), and Miami Dolphins (2025), Wilson has appeared in 38 games with 33 starts, completing 572-of-1,004 passes (57.0 pct.) for 6,325 yards, 23 touchdowns, 25 interceptions, a 73.1 passer rating, and has rushed 96 times for 499 yards and five touchdowns. In 2025, the Draper, Utah native played in four games with Miami, completing 6-of-11 passes for 32 yards.

In three collegiate seasons with the Cougars (2018-20), Wilson played in 30 games with 28 starts, completing 566-of-837 passes (67.6 pct. – school record) for 7,652 yards with 56 touchdowns and also had 212 carries for 642 yards and 15 touchowns. As a junior, Wilson led BYU to an 11-1 record, completing 73.5% of his passes (second-best accuracy in FBS) for 3,692 yards, 33 touchdowns, only three interceptions (best TD-to-INT ratio in FBS) and also ran 70 times for 254 yards and ten touchdowns. His 73.5% completion percentage in 2020 set a BYU school record.
