New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has re-signed free agent safety Terrell Burgess to a one-year contract.

Burgess, 5-11, 202, is a five-year NFL veteran who was originally selected in the third round (104th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams out of Utah. In five seasons with the Rams (2020-22), New York Giants (2022), Washington Commanders (2023) and Saints (2025), the San Marcos, Calif. native played in 59 regular season games with five starts and has career totals of 57 tackles (33 solo), four pass breakups and 19 special teams stops. In the 2021 postseason, when the Rams captured the Super Bowl LVI championship, Burgess appeared in all four playoff games with two starts at free safety and recorded seven tackles (five solo).

In 2025, Burgess provided valuable depth and veteran leadership to a new defensive scheme in New Orleans and became a key contributor on multiple special teams units. Playing in 16 games with one start, he recorded 15 tackles (six solo), a career-high three pass breakups and seven special teams stops.

In four collegiate seasons at Utah (2016-19), Burgess registered 116 tackles (72 solo), nine stops for a loss, ten pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, one interception, and blocked one field goal.
