New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has agreed to terms with free agent defensive end Jonathan Bullard on a one-year contract.

Bullard, 6-3, 290, is a nine-year NFL veteran who was originally drafted by the Chicago Bears in the third round (72nd overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. In nine seasons with Chicago (2016-18), Arizona (2019), Seattle (2020), Atlanta (2021) and Minnesota (2022-24), he has appeared in 116 games with 53 starts, recording 221 tackles (132 solo), 6.5 sacks, 28 stops for a loss, eight pass breakups and two forced fumbles. He has also appeared in three postseason contests with the Bears (2018) and Vikings (2022, 2024), tallying two solo tackles and one sack/stop for loss.

In 2024, Bullard started all 17 games for the Vikings, finishing with 41 tackles (21 solo) with one sack and three quarterback hits. He also set career-highs in games started (17), pass breakups (3) and stops for a loss (7). In 2023 with Minnesota, he set career-highs in sacks (2.0), total tackles (44), and solo stops (24). Last season, Bullard started and played in the Wild Card round against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Shelby, North Carolina native played four seasons at Florida (2012-15), where he appeared in 50 games and totaled 178 tackles (91 solo), 12.0 sacks and 27 quarterback hurries. As a freshman in 2012, Bullard helped Florida earn a share of the SEC East title. As a senior in 2015, he played a key role in leading the Gators to an outright division championship and an appearance in the SEC Championship Game against Alabama.
