New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced that the team signed free agent defensive tackle Jayden Peevy. Here are five things to know about the Saints roster addition:
- Peevy has appeared in six career games in his career with the Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers. In 2024 with the Panthers, Peevy played four games and recorded six tackles, 1.5 sacks, one pass defensed and one forced fumble.
- Peevy has also spent time on the practice squads of the Titans (2022-23), Panthers (2023-24) and Houston Texans (2024). He also spent time with the Cleveland Browns.
- The defensive tackle attended Texas A&M University where he played five seasons tallying 58 games played with 24 starts and registered totals of 137 tackles (49 solo), 7.5 sacks, 20 stops for a loss, one interception, eight pass breakups, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and four blocked kicks.
- During his senior year with the Aggies in 2021, he started all 11 games he played in and set career-highs with 43 tackles including seven tackles for loss and four passes defensed and his first career interception and forced fumble. He also added two sacks and was named the Aggies' 'Defensive Mr. Dependable Award' winner.
- The Bellaire, Texas native attended Houston Bellaire High School. As a senior, he recorded 77 tackles, 10 sacks and 14 quarterback hurries for the Cardinals in 2016.
