New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced that the club has agreed to terms with free agent tight end Noah Fant. Here are five things to know about the Saints roster addition:
1. Experienced Receiving Threat
A veteran tight end, Fant has played in seven NFL seasons with the Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks and Cincinnati Bengals after being drafted in the first round (20th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played in 110 career games with 90 starts, recording 334 receptions for 3,593 yards and 18 touchdowns. He has racked up 500 or more yards in four different seasons and has added 1,865 yards after the catch to his reception totals.
2. Second Time is the Charm
The Saints previously hosted Fant for a visit in training camp in July 2025 after his departure from the Seahawks. While Fant would ultimately sign with the Bengals, it all comes full circle for the Saints and Fant as the two agreed to terms on a contract eight months later.
3. NFL Combine Warrior
Fant turned heads at the 2019 NFL Combine. His 4.50 40-yard dash time at 6'4, 249 lbs. paced the tight end field that year. He also recorded the best vertical jump (39.5 inches), broad jump (10 feet, 7 inches), 3-cone drill time (6.81 seconds) and 60-yard shuttle time (11.49) for his position. Fant was the second tight end drafted in 2019 behind only former college teammate T.J. Hockenson.
4. Iowa Hawkeyes Standout Tight End
At Iowa, Fant set records for the Hawkeyes in a productive three-year collegiate career. In 36 career games, he tallied 78 receptions for 1,083 yards (13.9 avg.) and 19 touchdowns, which was a school record for career touchdown receptions by a tight end. His record now ranks third in the school's history. He earned first-team All-Big Ten honors as a junior in 2018 after leading all FBS tight ends with seven touchdown receptions. He also earned third-team All-Big 10 honors in 2017.
5. Multi-Sport Prep Athlete
The Omaha, Nebraska native attended Omaha South High School where he earned first team all-state honors as a senior and second team all-state as a junior. He holds school records for career receptions, total receptions in a season, career touchdowns and total touchdowns in a season. Fant also competed in track sprints, high jump, and triple jump, as well as basketball.
