New Orleans Saints announce roster moves following Rookie Minicamp

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club have signed safety Terrell Burgess and wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jonesto one-year contracts and waived safety Millard Bradford and running back Jordan Mims.

Burgess and Peoples-Jones participated in the team's rookie minicamp this past weekend on a tryout basis.

Burgess, 5-11, 202, is a four-year NFL veteran who was originally selected in the third round (104th overall) by the Los Angeles Rams out of Utah. In four seasons with the Rams (2020-22), New York Giants (2022) and Washington Commanders (2023), the San Marcos, Calif. native played in 43 regular season games with four starts and has recorded career totals of 42 tackles (27 solo) with one pass breakup and 12 special teams stops. In the 2021 postseason, when the Rams captured the Super Bowl LVI championship, Burgess appeared in all four playoff games with two starts and recorded seven tackles (five solo).

Burgess went to training camp with the Buffalo Bills in 2024. In 2023, he played in 12 games with two starts for the Commanders and recorded 18 tackles (13 solo) and seven special teams stops.

In his college career at Utah from 2016-19, Burgess registered 116 total tackles, ten passes defensed, nine stops for loss, two fumble recoveries and one interception.

Peoples-Jones, 6-2, 204, is a four-year NFL veteran who was originally selected in the sixth round (187th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Michigan by the Cleveland Browns. In four seasons with the Browns (2020-23) and the Detroit Lions (2023-24), Peoples-Jones played in 58 regular season games with 31 starts and has career totals of 122 receptions for 1,895 yards (15.5 avg.) with eight touchdowns. Peoples-Jones has also rushed once for two yards times, returned 61 punts for 479 yards (7.9 avg.) with a 76-yard touchdown and returned 18 kickoffs for 379 yards. In five postseason contests with two starts for the Browns and Lions, he recorded two receptions for 31 yards and returned five punts for 40 yards (8.0 avg.).

In 2023, the Detroit, Mich. native played in 15 regular season games with six starts for the Browns and Lions and recorded 13 receptions for 155 yards, while bringing back 13 punts for 84 yards. In three postseason contests, he brought back four punts for 32 yards. In 2024, he spent the season on Detroit's practice squad. Peoples-Jones participated in the Saints' rookie minicamp on a tryout basis last weekend.

Peoples-Jones was a two-time All-Big ten selection as a wideout and two-time honoree as a punt returner during his college career in Ann Arbor for the Wolverines, where he appeared in 37 games with 26 starts, totaling 2,155 all-purpose yards with 16 touchdowns (14 receiving).
