New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Friday that the club has signed tackle Barry Wesley. Here are five things to know about the Saints roster addition:

  1. The lineman most recently played for the Birmingham Stallions of the UFL in 2025. He played in 11 games (nine starts) at the left tackle, left guard and right tackle positions. He was a nominee for the league's Sportsman of the Year award, recognizing sportsmanship, character and community service.
  2. Wesley participated in training camp and preseason with the Atlanta Falcons in 2023 and earned a practice squad spot prior to the season. He rejoined the Falcons for training camp and preseason once again in 2024, but was waived ahead of the regular season roster cut.
  3. He played for the Seattle Sea Dragons in the XFL in the 2023 season. Wesley also spent time with the Massachusetts Pirates, though he never took the field for the Indoor Football League team.
  4. Wesley appeared in 38 games in his collegiate career for the Colorado State University Rams, playing tackle and guard. Wesley started as a walk on before earning a scholarship in his second year in the program. Wesley was the recipient of the Albert C. Yates Student Leadership Award in 2019.
  5. The offensive lineman attended Bear Creek High School in his hometown of Lakewood, Colorado. He participated in football, basketball and wrestling in high school.
