NFL CAREER – Marcus Maye joined the Saints as an unrestricted free agent in 2022, where he teamed on the back end at the safety position with Tyrann Mathieu. Maye, entering his seventh NFL season, first entered the league as a second round draft pick (39th overall) of the New York Jets out of the University of Florida in 2017. He has started all 70 contests he has appeared in for the Jets and Saints, posting career totals of 368 tackles (258 solo), 3.5 sacks for a loss of 19 yards, six interception returns for 148 yards, 26 passes defensed, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and four special teams stops

Tampa Bay, Sept. 18, recorded four tackles (three solo)…Declared inactive for next three contests (ribs)…Vs. Las Vegas Oct. 30, started at SS and recorded one assisted tackle as part of a standout effort in 24-0 shutout…Vs. Baltimore, Nov. 7, tallied 11 tackles, tying a career-high with eight solo stops…At Pittsburgh, Nov. 13, declared inactive (abdomen)…Vs. LAR, Nov. 20, started at SS and recorded three tackles (two solo), as New Orleans surrendered only 188 net yards passing…At San Francisco, Nov. 27, started at SS and recorded five tackles (one solo)…At Tampa Bay, Dec. 5, started at SS and posted 11 tackles (career-high tying eight solo), including six stops in the first series of the contest…Vs. Atlanta, Dec. 18, started at SS and finished game with seven tackles (five solo) and two passes defended to tie a career-high…Inactive for final three contests (shoulder). 2021 – Started all six games he appeared in for the Jets and posted 46 tackles (30 solo), one sack and two passes defensed before suffering a season-ending achilles tendon injury. 2020 – Started all 16 games for the second consecutive season and third time in his career…Named a team captain and selected as the Team Most Valuable Player by his teammates…Registered single-season career-highs in every statistical category, finishing first on the team with 11 passes defensed and second with 88 tackles adding two sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. One of just four NFL players with at least two sacks, interceptions and forced fumbles, plus 85 tackles. Finished with three solo tackles, one forced fumble and one pass defensed at LAC, Nov. 22. 2019 – Started all 16 games for the Jets as team's free safety, and registered 65 tackles, the fourth most on the team and second most among defensive backs, an interception, six passes defensed and two special teams stops. Recorded four solo tackles, one interception and one pass defense vs. Pittsburgh, Dec. 22. 2018 – Started all six games he appeared in at FS for the Jets after missing the first three weeks and then being placed on Injured Reserve, Dec. 1 (shoulder/thumb)…Registered 33 tackles (29 solo), his first career half-sack, one interception returned for a franchise-record 104 yards, two passes defensed, one forced fumble and a special teams stop…Vs. Denver, Oct. 7, had season-high eight tackles (six solo) and 104-yard interception return. 2017 – Started all 16 game at FS as a rookie for the Jets, finishing fourth on the team and second among defensive backs in tackles (76). Added three passes defensed, two interceptions, one forced fumble and one special teams stop…Finished season second in NFL among rookie defensive backs in tackles…Had four tackles (three solo), first career interception and one pass defense at Cleveland, Oct. 8…Posted four solo tackles and first career forced fumble vs. Buffalo, Nov. 2.

COLLEGE – Started 32-of-45 games for Florida, posting 210 tackles (124 solo), five interceptions, one sack, 22 passes defensed, seven forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries…Started Florida's first nine games before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury against South Carolina and notched 50 tackles, fourth on the team, one sack, one interception and six pass breakups...Consensus second -team All-SEC selection…Named first-team All-American by USA Today and Pro Football Focus…Named first-team All-SEC by PFF and Gridiron Now…Played in 13 games with 12 starts as junior, where he racked up 82 tackles, forced five fumbles, second most in the country, and recovered two while intercepting two passes and breaking up six more…Played in 11 games with nine starts as a sophomore where he totaled 62 tackles, third most on the team and most among Gators defensive backs…Played in all 12 games and made two starts at safety as a redshirt freshman, where he recorded 16 tackles and his first career interception against Tennessee.
