Saints Hall of Famer Tom Dempsey, who was inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame in 1989, will appear at the Saints Hall of Fame Museum on Saturday, December 19 from 5:20 p.m.-6:30 p.m., prior to the New Orleans Saints game with the Dallas Cowboys in the Superdome.

Dempsey, who kicked for the New Orleans Saints in 1969 and 1970, will be available for autographs and pictures on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dempsey is still the co-holder of the longest field goal in NFL history. On November 8, 1970, Dempsey booted a game-ending, game-winning 63-yard field goal as the Saints shocked the Detroit Lions 19-17 at Tulane Stadium. Jason Elam of the Broncos tied the record on October 25, 1998 against the Jacksonville Jaguars with the aid of the high altitude of Mile High Stadium in Denver. Dempsey earned a Pro Bowl berth for his fine season with New Orleans in 1969.

The Saints Hall of Fame Museum is located at Gate B on the Plaza Level of the Louisiana Superdome. Admission is free to all game ticket holders on game day. The museum is available by appointment for a charge of $7 per person or $5 per group of 10 or more on weekdays. For more information, call Ken Trahan at (504) 309-1004 Extension 209.
