Gil Brandt, a longtime personnel executive with the Dallas Cowboys who now serves as a senior analyst for NFL.com, recently selected his top 45 linebackers of all time.
Former Giants great Lawrence Taylor was No. 1 but three former New Orleans Saints made the list as well. Rickey Jackson, Pro Football Hall of Famer, Saints Ring of Honor member, led the group of Saints as Brandt's 17th-ranked linebacker. Two of Jackson's running mates on the Dome Patrol defense - Sam Mills (45th) and Pat Swilling (42nd) - also were ranked.
