New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Monday that the club has agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent safety Terrell Burgess on a one-year contract.

  1. Burgess joins the Saints after four seasons in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams, New York Giants and Washington Commanders where he tallied 54 tackles (35 solo) over 43 regular season games including four starts.
  2. The safety helped the Rams to a victory in Super Bowl LVI, appearing in all four playoff games including two starts and tallied seven tackles (five solo).
  3. The 26-year old was drafted by the Rams in the third round (104th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft out of the University of Utah. Burgess racked up 116 tackles (72 solo) in 45 games over four seasons with the Utes. He also added 7.5 tackles for loss, an interception, 10 passes defensed and a fumble recovery.
  1. The San Marcos, California native attended San Marcos High School where he was a two-way star, earning All-CIF San Diego Section first-team as a wide receiver during his senior year and second-team as a defensive back during his junior year. He finished his high school tenure with eight career interceptions and 90 career tackles as well as 73 career receptions for 1,288 yards and 17 touchdowns.
  1. A two-sport athlete in high school, Burgess also participated in track and field and recorded personal-best times of 11.14 in the 100 and 22.31 in the 200 meters.
