New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Tuesday that the club has signed free agent tight end Tory Humphrey and placed fullback Marcus Mailei on injured reserve.

Humphrey, a 6-2, 255-pound fourth-year player out of Central Michigan, spent his first three seasons with the Green Bay Packers, playing in 24 career games with seven starts and has caught 11 passes for 162 yards. He sustained a fractured forearm in training camp earlier this year and was placed on injured reserve before being waived by the Packers. The Saginaw, Mich. native originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent signed by the Indianapolis Colts in 2005 before moving on to the Green Bay practice squad and later their active roster.

Mailei (6-0, 255) was signed by the Saints off of the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad Dec. 9 and played in two games, primarily on special teams, making one tackle. The rookie fullback suffered a hamstring injury in Saturday's game against Dallas and will go on season-ending injured reserve.
