Saints running back Alvin Kamara ruled out of Falcons game with concussion

Injury happened on opening drive

Alvin Kamara, the sensational rookie running back for the New Orleans Saints, was ruled out of Thursday's game vs. the Atlanta Falcons with a concussion.

Kamara touched the ball on three of the Saints' first four plays - one reception going for 23 yards - but had to leave after taking a hit to his helmet.

The third-round draft pick out of Tennessee entered the game averaging 7 yards per rushing attempt and 10.4 yards per reception with 11 touchdowns.

Four other Saints players left the game in the first half: linebacker A.J. Klein, defensive end Trey Hendrickson, safety Kenny Vaccaro and guard Senio Kelemete. Hendrickson and Kelemete also were ruled out of further action Thursday. Vaccaro and Klein or questionable to return with groin injuries.
