  • S Darren Sharper prepped at Hermitage (Richmond, Va.) and was an All-American selection at William & Mary.
  • FB Charles Grant/Kyle Eckel.aspx">Kyle Eckel played at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
  • Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams served as assistant head coach/defense of the Redskins from 2004-07. Redskins secondary coach Jerry Gray served on Williams' defensive staff in Tennessee from 1997-2000, in Buffalo from 2001-03 and in Washington from 2006-07. He also tutored Washington safeties coach Steve Jackson as a player in Tennessee and then had him on staff in Buffalo and with the Redskins. Jackson tutored S PiersonPrioleau in Buffalo from 2001-03 and in Washington from 2005-07. Gray tutored CB Jabari Greer in Buffalo from 2004-05.
  • Greer, DT Anthony Hargrove and Redskins G Derrick Dockery were teammates in Buffalo. TE David Thomas and Dockery were teammates at Texas in 2002.
  • K John Carney and Gray were teammates with the Los Angeles Rams in 1990.
  • Assistant head coach/linebackers Joe Vitt played linebacker at Towson State from 1974-77. Vitt, head coach Sean Payton and Redskins special teams coordinator Danny Smith served on the same staff with the Philadelphia Eagles. Smith served on Williams' coaching staff in Buffalo from 2001-03.
  • Williams and Redskins offensive coordinator Sherman Smith served on the same staff in Tennessee from 1995-2000.
  • Offensive Coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr. served as a quality control coach for Washington in 2001.
  • Quarterbacks coach Joe Lombardi's grandfather and Pro Football Hall of Fame legend Vince Lombardi, served as head coach/executive vice-president of the Redskins in 1969. Joe Lombardi also previously coached tight ends and tackles at Virginia Military Institute in 1999.
  • Assistant special teams coach Mike Mallory served as inside linebackers coach at the University of Maryland in 2000.
  • QB Mark Brunell played for Washington from 2004-07, serving as their starting signal caller for his first three seasons with the club. Brunell played for Redskins offensive consultant Sherman Lewis in Green Bay from 1993-94 and was a teammate of Redskins LS Ethan Albright with the Packers as well as the Redskins.
  • T Jermon Bushrod prepped at King George (Va.) High School and played at Towson.
  • LB Marvin Mitchell prepped at Virginia Pilot (Norfolk, Va.) High School.
  • CB Usama Young attended Largo (Md.) High School.
  • Prioleau played for the Redskins from 2005-07 and played in college at Virginia Tech.
  • Redskins defensive coordinator Greg Blache is a New Orleans native who served on the coaching staff at Tulane from 1976-80 and later at Southern University in 1986.
  • WR Devery Henderson was tutored by Washington wide receivers coach Stan Hixon while at Louisiana State University from 2001-03.
  • Assistant defensive line coach Travis Jones and Hixon served on the same Tigers National Championship staff in 2003.
  • Special teams coordinator Greg McMahon and Washington executive vice president/football operations Vinny Cerrato served on the same staff at the University of Minnesota from 1983-84.
  • Redskins offensive quality control coach Bill Khayat's father, Eddie, was an assistant on the inaugural Saints team in 1967.
  • McMahon and Redskins offensive coordinator Sherman Smith served on the same staff at the University of Illinois from 1992-94.
  • Washington QB Jason Campbell prepped at Taylorsville (Miss.) High School.

  • Moss was tutored by wide receivers coach Curtis Johnson at UM. C Jonathan Goodwin, Vilma and Moss were teammates with the New York Jets.
  • Redskins S LaRon Landry prepped at Hahnville High School and played at LSU from 2003-06, where he was a teammate of both CB Randall Gay and Henderson.
  • DT Sedrick Ellis and RB Reggie Bush played with Redskins TE Fred Davis at the University of Southern California.
  • C Nick Leckey and Redskins RB Rock Cartwright were teammates at Kansas State.
