New Orleans Saints vs Philadelphia Eagles: Notebook

The Saints will face the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday, January 11 at 3:35 p.m.

*With Saturday's win, the Saints advance to the NFC Divisional Playoff. New Orleans will travel to the northwest and face the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday, January 11 with kickoff scheduled for 3:35 p.m. The contest will be nationally televised on FOX (WVUE-FOX 8 locally).

*The contest was the first road playoff win for New Orleans in franchise history.

*Sean Payton's record in the postseason improves to 6-3. The Saints are now 7-8 all-time in the playoffs.

*The Saints now lead Philadelphia 2-1 in their three postseason meetings. The Saints have winning records against the Eagles (2-1), Indianapolis Colts (1-0) and Detroit Lions (1-0) in the postseason. Philadelphia is tied with Minnesota for being New Orleans' most frequent postseason opponent. Including the regular season, the Saints have now defeated the Eagles the last three meetings.

*New Orleans converted seven-of-13 third down attempts (54%).

*QB Drew Brees completed 20 of 30 passes for 250 yards, one touchdown pass, two interceptions and a passer rating of 75.7. He also had a key second quarter rush for a four-yard gain on third-and-one. He also scrambled for five yards in the second quarter.

*Brees led his 3rd career game-winning drive in the postseason. Brees led two comebacks in the in 2009 playoffs, including in overtime in the NFC Championship and the fourth-quarter go-ahead scoring drive for a touchdown in the team's Super Bowl XLIV victory.

*New Orleans' trio of running backs in Mark Ingram, Darren Sproles and Khiry Robinson, along with Brees and WR Kenny Stills (one-yard rush), rushed 36 times for 185 yards (5.1 avg.) with one touchdown.

*In his postseason debut, Ingram carried 18 times for a team-leading 97 yards with a four-yard touchdown run and had three receptions for 17 yards.

*Robinson carried eight times for 45 yards.

*RB Darren Sproles had four carries for 29 yards and four receptions for 31 yards. He also returned four kickoffs for 98 yards and three punts for 31 yards for 189 all-purpose yards

*TE Jimmy Graham caught three passes for 44 yards.

*Stills had three receptions for 35 yards.

*WR Lance Moore had two grabs for 31 yards including a third quarter 24-yard touchdown reception from Brees. It was Moore's first career touchdown reception in the postseason.

*WR Robert Meachem had a fourth quarter 40-yard reception to help set up a field goal to extend New Orleans' lead to 23-17.

*WR Marques Colston had two receptions for 16 yards.

*The New Orleans defense held the Eagles to 256 total net yards, including only 80 on the ground, 77 to LeSean McCoy, the NFL's leading rusher in the regular season.

*In a key defensive drive that spanned the first and second quarters, two key plays helped force a Philadelphia field goal attempt that turned out to be a miss. On first and ten at the New Orleans 15-yard line, ILB Curtis Lofton stopped Philadelphia TE Brent Celek for an eight-yard loss. On the next play, DE Cameron Jordan sacked Eagles QB Nick Foles for an 11-yard loss.

*The New Orleans defense allowed Philadelphia to convert only three-of-12 third down attempts (25%).

*Jordan finished with four tackles (three solo) and 1.5 sacks after splitting one with DE Akiem Hicks in the third quarter.

*The Saints controlled the football for 34:53 on Saturday night.

*K Shayne Graham hit four field goals, including a 32-yard attempt as time expired, a Saints franchise postseason record.
