New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced that the team signed free agent guard/center Mike Panasiuk. Here are five things to know about the Saints roster addition:

  1. Panasiuk joins the Saints after spending three seasons with the St. Louis Battlehawks from 2023-2025 in the UFL. Playing as the team's starting center, Panasiuk earned All-UFL/XFL in each season.
  2. Panasiuk started his career as a defensive lineman. He played defensive tackle at college and first joined the Las Vegas Raiders as a defensive tackle. He previously played on the offensive line as well as defensive tackle in high school and made the switch at the professional level when he joined the Battlehawks in 2023.
  3. Along with the Las Vegas Raiders, he also spent time in the NFL on the Carolina Panthers practice squad as well as 2024 Training Camp with the Indianapolis Colts. He also tried out with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2023.
  4. He finished his collegiate career at Michigan State University as a four year letterwinner with career totals of 100 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, four sacks, four pass breakups, two interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery in 51 games for the Spartans, including 41 starts. He ended on a high note with a win over Wake Forest in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl where he scored his first career touchdown on a 14-yard interception return.
  5. The Roselle, Illinois native attended Lake Park High School where he earned All-State honors in football. He also lettered in basketball and track and field.
