Mercedes-Benz Superdome will use walk-through metal detectors at Saints games

Move was mandated by the NFL

As mandated by the NFL, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome will use walk-through metal detectors at all entry gates to enhance safety and security. This will be in effect for Saturday's 7 p.m. game vs. the Houston Texans.

Prior to entering the detectors please remove: cell phones, keys, cameras and other large metal objects. Do not remove: coins, jackets, wallets, watches or small jewelry.

Please have all approved clear bags open and ready for screening. Express lanes are available at all entrances for guests without bags. The state of Louisiana bans the possession of guns on the premises.

LIST OF PROHIBITED ITEMS

Cans, bottles, weapons, fireworks, contraband, video cameras, cameras with lens exceeding six inches, recording devices, sticks/poles/selfie sticks, GoPros, beach balls, laser pointers, mace, artificial noise makers and conatiners of any kind.

All bags are prohibited other than clear vinyl bags no larger than 12 inches wide and 12 inches tall and six inches deep, gallon Ziploc bags (limit of one) and small clutch purses no larger than 6.5 inches wide and 4 inches high.

Non-clear diaper bags are prohibited.

A clear diaper bag is permitted, subject to the normal size restrictions.

Each member of a family, including children, will be allowed to carry an approved clear bag and clutch purse into the stadium.

Any other item determined unacceptable by management will be prohibited.
