New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Monday that the club has signed offensive lineman Lucas Patrick. Here are five things to know about the Saints roster addition:

  1. Patrick is a 7-year NFL veteran who has had stints with the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers, playing in 96 games including 54 starts.
  2. The 6-foot-3, 313-pound lineman has taken snaps at all three interior offensive line positions (left guard, center and right guard) at the NFL level.
  3. In 2018, the lineman earned a few snaps on special teams for the Packers. Patrick fielded two kickoffs, returning them for 23 yards including a 15-yard gain.
  4. Patrick attended Duke University and in four seasons (2012-2015) with the Blue Devils he played in 44 games (26 starts) including starting 21 consecutive games at left guard to close out his collegiate career.
  5. The Brentwood, Tenn., native attended Brentwood High School where he played three years for the Bruins, helping the team to 29 wins and three state playoff berths as well as being named a team captain during his senior year.
