Five Things to Know about Saints defensive end Jeremiah Martin

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced that the team has signed free agent defensive end Jeremiah Martin. Here are five things to know about the Saints roster addition:

  1. Martin joins the Saints after spending time on the Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, and Green Bay Packers in 2024. He had five tackles and one sack for a loss of six yards in the 2024 preseason.
  2. Martin also played with the Browns in the 2023 preseason where he had seven tackles and two sacks for a loss of 13.5 yards.
  3. The 6'4, 265-pound defensive end finished his collegiate career with the University of Washington. In his final season with the Huskies, he started all 13 games and tallied 41 tackles, including 11 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks. He also added a pass deflection and forced fumble, earning All-Pac-12 First Team honors for the campaign.
  4. Martin started his collegiate career at Texas A&M University where he played from 2018-2020. He reunites on the Saints with former collegiate teammate for the Aggies defensive tackle Jayden Peevy.
  5. The San Bernadino, California native attended Cajon High School. In his senior season, he accumulated 89 tackles with 30.5 sacks as well as four forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. The sack total ranked in the top five in single season totals in state history. He also played basketball at the high school level and averaged 27.3 points per game in his senior season, winning a league title.
