New Orleans Saints players swept the weekly FedEx awards announced Thursday as quarterback Drew Brees was named the FedEx Air Player of the Week while running back Mark Ingram was named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week.
Brees was 28 of 36 for 310 yards with four touchdowns and a 139,6 rating in the Saints' 49-21 victory over the Los Angeles Rams this past Sunday.
Ingram carried the ball 14 times for 146 yards and a 10-yard touchdown. That works out to a whopping 10.4 average per carry, thanks in large part to a 61-yard run in the third quarter. It's the second national honor for Ingram this week as he was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday. Ingram also had a 21-yard TD reception while Brees chipped in a 1-yard touchdown run.
