The New Orleans Saints announced Tuesday that they have claimed guard Chuck Filiaga off waivers from Green Bay. Here are five things to know about the Saints roster addition:

  1. A 2017 graduate of Aledo High School in Aledo, Texas, Filiaga helped lead Aledo to the 2016 Texas Division II Class 5A State Championship.
  2. Filiaga spent five seasons (2017-21) at Michigan where he appeared in 39 career games with eight starts at left guard and three at right guard before transferring to Minnesota.
  3. He started all 13 games at right guard for Minnesota and blocked for an offense that rushed for 2,698 yards and 33 touchdowns and passed for 2,369 yards and 12 touchdowns.
  4. During his collegiate career, he received All-Big Ten Third Team honors in 2022, as awarded by coaches as well as an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2022, awarded by the media.
  5. Filiaga was signed to Green Bay as an undrafted free agent prior to the start of training camp.
