After knocking off the Carolina Panthers 17–7 in Week 10 to snap a four-game losing streak, the New Orleans Saints enjoyed some much-needed rest last week. The team returns to action following their bye to host their NFC South rival Atlanta Falcons at 3:25 p.m. at the Caesars Superdome.

The Saints and the Falcons have met 111 times in the regular season. Four of the last six meetings between the two clubs have been by three points or fewer – including both meetings in 2024. The Saints defeated Atlanta, 20–17 at the Caesars Superdome on Nov. 10, with the Falcons' win being by a 26–24 edge in that season's first meeting on Sept. 29. The Falcons have lost five consecutive games after a 3–2 start and are coming off a 30–27 overtime loss to the Panthers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday.

THIS WEEK IN THE NFC SOUTH: The Carolina Panthers play the San Francisco 49ers (7-2) on Monday Night Football, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-2) will play at the Los Angeles Rams (7-2) on Sunday Night Football.

The Saints lead their regular season series with the Falcons, 56–55, with New Orleans holding a 26–12 advantage over the Falcons since 2006. Since 1991, 38 games have been decided by eight points or less. The Falcons had a 10-game winning streak from 1995–99, which remains the Saints' longest winless streak against an opponent. New Orleans took 13-of-16 in the rivalry from 1986–94 and Atlanta won nine straight over the fledgling Saints from 1969–73. Atlanta's most recent mastery over a five-year period ended with a 21–19 win for New Orleans at the Georgia Dome on Nov. 22, 2000. Eight games in the series have gone into overtime.

THE LAST REGULAR SEASON MEETING

New Orleans Saints 20, Atlanta Falcons 17; Nov. 10, 2024 @ Caesars Superdome - With the offense struggling for the entire second half, the New Orleans Saints defense stepped up to preserve a a 20-17 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday at the Caesars Superdome. First, safety Tyrann Mathieu picked off Atlanta quarterback Kirk Cousins as he was marching the Falcons into scoring position. After the Saints gave the ball back on a punt, defensive end Chase Young sacked Cousins, and then on a desperate fourth-down play, Alontae Taylor made a game-sealing tackle as the clock expired. The win ended the Saints' seven-game losing streak and improved their record to 3-7. Atlanta dropped to 6-4. It's the first victory for Saints interim coach Darren Rizzi, who replaced Dennis Allen on Monday. FULL GAME RECAP
