Saints end two-game losing streak as Tyler Shough rushes for two touchdowns

Rookie quarterback Tyler Shough ran for two touchdowns to lead the New Orleans Saints to a 24-20 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a rainy Sunday afternoon at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla.

The win ended a two-game losing streak and improved the Saints to 3-10. The loss dropped Tampa to 7-6.

Shough, the team's second-round pick out of Louisville, ran for a 34-yard touchdown on the first possession of the second half and added a 13-yard scramble for a score in the fourth quarter. He rushed five times for 58 yards and was 13 of 20 passing for 144 yards with one interception.

Rookie running back Devin Neal had a big game with 19 carries for 70 yards and his first rushing touchdown, a 3-yard plunge in the first quarter. Tight end Juwan Johnson had four receptions for 38 yard and Chris Olave had three receptions for 30 yards.

Defensively, the Saints made multiple big stops on fourth-down attempts by Tampa and cornerback Alontae Taylor intercepted Tampa quarterback Baker Mayfield. The Bucs were two of seven on fourth down and three of 12 on third down.

The Saints will play host to the Carolina Panthers (7-6) on Sunday, Dec. 14 at the Caesars Superdome. The Panthers will be coming off of their bye. The Saints won the opener in Charlotte.
