The Atlanta Falcons took a 16-7 halftime lead over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at the Caesars Superdome.

The first Atlanta score — a 39-yard field goal — was set up when quarterback Tyler Shough and running back Alvin Kamara had a bad exchange on a handoff. The second was a nine-yard touchdown pass from Atlanta quarterback Kirk Cousins to David Sills. Atlanta ended the half by making a 54-yard field goal.

Saints safety Justin Reid scored the Saints' points on a 49-yard pick-six with 6:41 to play in the second quarter. It was the Saints' first pick-six since Tyrann Mathieu's against New England in 2023. It is Reid's first interception with the Saints.

New Orleans had a great chance to score early in the game following a career long kickoff return by Mason Tipton — 75 yards and the longest kick return by a Saint since the 2020 season vs. San Francisco — but Blake Grupe missed a 38-yard attempt. He also missed a 47-yarder wide right with 52 seconds to play in the half.

The Saints' offense struggled to get anything going in the half as Shough was 12 of 17 for 81 yards. Tight end Juwan Johnson had four receptions for 29 yards and receiver Chris Olave added three catches for 21 yards and tight

While Reid had the play of the half, Cameron Jordan recorded the 126th sack of his career. Chase Young had the fourth sack of his season and Isaiah Stalbirdadded a sack in the second quarter. Jordan is now 19th all-time in sacks in NFL history.

Kamara left in the first quarter with a knee injury after an awkward tackle on the sideline. The Saints (2-8) will get the ball to start the second half.
