Biography

NFL CAREER – After spending the majority of his rookie season on the Saints practice squad, Jones secured a spot on the team's 53-man roster in 2021 after leading the team in rushing with 12 carries for 106 yards (8.8 avg.) with one touchdown in the preseason. In the regular season, Jones appeared in 11 games with four starts and carried 54 times for 142 yards and added five receptions for 29 yards

CAREER TRANSACTIONS – Activated by Saints from Injured Reserve, 11/20/21; Placed by Saints on Injured Reserve, 10/6/21; Signed by Saints to a reserve/future contract, 1/18/21; Elevated to active roster by Saints (COVID-19), 1/2/21; Agreed to terms with Saints on a practice squad contract, 9/6/20; Waived by Saints, 9/5/20; Agreed to terms with the Saints as an undrafted free agent, 4/27/20.

2021 – Appeared in 11 games with four starts for New Orleans and carried 54 times for 142 yards and caught five passes for 29 yards…In season-opening win over Green Bay in Jacksonville, Sept. 12, carried 11 times for 50 yards (4.5 avg.) and caught a pass for a three-yard gain. Missed Week 5-11 contests on injured reserve with ankle injury and inactive for Week 13 contest vs. Dallas. 2020 – After spending first 16 weeks on the practice squad, made NFL debut in Week 17 starting at Carolina, 1/3/21, rushing for 13 yards on three attempts.

COLLEGE – Four-year letterman for Notre Dame, who played three years…In 2019, started 12 games, rushing for 857 yards and six TDs as he became the tenth player in school single-season history with five or more 100-yard rushing games…Rumbled for an 84-yard TD in the Camping World Bowl win over Iowa State, the longest rush in Notre Dame's bowl history and the bowl's history…In 2018 as a redshirt junior, played in all 13 games, totaling 392 rushing yards and three TDs…In 2017 as redshirt freshman, played in 12 games, gaining 232 yards on 44 carries with three TDs…Graduated with a degree in film, television and theatre

PERSONAL – St. Petersburg, Fl. native was a dynamic running back for Florida powerhouse IMG (Bradenton, Fl.) Academy, where he in 2015 was a teammate of Saints G/C Cesar Ruiz…Rushed for 514 yards and 11 TDs on 78 carries (6.6 yards per carry, including three 100-yard rushing games and a season-long run of 59 yards as a senior, also catching six passes for 149 yards (24.8 yards per reception) and one TD…Also an outstanding baseball player for IMG…Batted .491 (26 of 53) with two doubles, a triple, one home run, nine runs batted in, 11 stolen bases and 16 runs scored in 18 games as a junior…Participated in the 2022 Saints Hall of Fame Golf Tournament.
