NFL CAREER – A speedy and talented wideout/return specialist with a 6-0, 180-pound frame, Rashid Shaheed burst onto the scene in 2022. Signed by the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Weber State, Shaheed was activated from the practice squad in mid-October and made an instant impact, scoring touchdowns on his first two offensive touches. The San Diego, Calif. native appeared in 12 games with six starts, catching 28 passes for 488 yards (17.4 avg.) and two scores, carried four times for 57 yards and a score, returned 20 punts for 193 yards (9.7 avg.) and 14 kicks for 320 yards (22.9 avg.). In 2023, Shaheed looks to continue to further develop into an offensive weapon and deep threat for the Saints after his early success as a rookie.

Rams, Nov. 20, caught an eight-yard pass and had four punt returns for 40 yards…At San Francisco, Nov. 27, rushed once for six yards, caught two passes for 53 yards (26.5 avg.), including a game-long 35-yard gain and returned two punts for 18 yards and two kickoffs for 47 yards…At Tampa Bay, Dec. 5, started and handled return duties and carried once for no gain, had four receptions for 75 yards, returned two punts for a career-high 59 yards, including a career-long 42-yard return and brought back a kickoff 30 yards for a career-high 164 all-purpose yards…Vs. Atlanta, Dec. 18, started and handled return duties. Finished with three receptions for season-high 95 yards to lead the receivers and had a 68-yard touchdown reception in win. Shaheed's 68-yard touchdown catch from Taysom Hill in the first quarter was the longest touchdown play of the season for the Saints and fifth-longest reception by a Saints rookie all-time…At Cleveland, Dec. 24, started and handled return duties. Finished with four receptions for 41 yards and returned two kickoffs for 47 yards and one punt for 0 yards…At Philadelphia, 1/1/23, started and handled return duties. Recorded a club-best six receptions for team-high 79 yards, including a team-long 58-yard reception, returned three punts for 18 yards and brought back one kickoff 27 yards…Vs. COLLEGE: Five-year letterman for Weber State finished college career as one of the FCS's most prolific kickoff returners…Appeared in 52 career games and finished with 88 kickoff returns for 2,560 yards (29.1 avg.) with seven TDs and had 40 career punt returns for 575 yards (10.8 avg.). Logged 146 receptions for 2,164 yards (14.8 avg.) with 18 touchdowns and a long of 73 yards. Also had 30 rushes for 179 yards (6.0 avg.) with two scores. Finished as Weber State leader in kickoff return average. Accumulated 5,478 all-purpose yards, third in school history, and third in career punt return yardage.
