NFL CAREER – After originally signing with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2019, Dowell joined the Saints at the end of his rookie season and spent the majority of the 2020 campaign on the Saints practice squad, before making his NFL Debut in the regular season finale. In 2021, Dowell made a huge impact on special teams, appearing in 16 games, posting one defensive tackle and 14 special teams stops, good for second on the team and tied for fifth-best in the league. He also blocked one punt. Dowell was the only player in the NFL to record five special teams tackles in a single game in 2021. In 2022, Dowell appeared in all 17 games again and continued to carve out his place on special teams as he led the Saints with 379 snaps in the kicking game and recorded seven stops and two forced fumbles.
