The Young Leadership Council (YLC) and New Orleans City Council President Stacy Head proudly announced the line-up for its 14th Annual YLC Wednesday at the Square concert series, which officially kicks off on Wednesday, March 6 at 5:00 p.m. with The Colin Lake Band opening for Anders Osborne. New this year, there will be a special performance announcement at the Wednesday, May 8 concert, revealing the final surprise concert in the 2013 series.

Starting March 6, the 12-week concert series will run every Wednesday evening in Lafayette Square (between Camp Street and St. Charles Avenue in the Central Business District) from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. through May 22. This season features several well known performers such as Bucktown All-Stars; Col. Bruce Hampton; Irvin Mayfield with special guest Kermit Ruffins; The Mother Hips; The Revivalists; The Meters Experience featuring Leo Nocentelli; Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk; Billy Iuso & Restless Natives; Westbank Mike; and Marcia Ball, among others.

"Without public support, the YLC could not continue its contributions to the community," said Richard Pavlick, President of the YLC Board of Directors. "We appreciate everyone who has continually supported the YLC by attending our spring concerts, and we look forward to seeing their faces along with new ones this year."

In addition to the music, YLC Wednesday at the Square has an Artist Village, showcasing handcrafted items including glass art, jewelry, ceramics, photographs, t-shirts, paintings, and more. A varied selection of food and beverages is available to concert attendees with proceeds from these sales benefitting YLC's many community projects, which seek to build leadership and to improve the quality of life in New Orleans.

This year's concerts are sponsored by the New Orleans Saints, Republic National Beverage Company, and the Downtown Development District.

"The Young Leadership Council members represent the future leaders of New Orleans," said New Orleans City Council President Stacy Head. "The annual Wednesday at the Square concert series is one of the countless examples of how the future leaders of our city are working together to give back and contribute to making New Orleans a thriving community."

The YLC, which is the oldest, independent young professionals' organization in the country, recruits and retains young professionals to New Orleans and develops young leaders through volunteer-created community projects. Since its founding in 1986, the YLC has raised more than $25 million for the community.
