Vilma Named Morton's The Steakhouse Community Player of the Week

The Morton's The Steakhouse Community Player of the Week announced at the Saints vs. Colts game was Linebacker Jonathan Vilma for his outstanding efforts in the community.

Vilma has excelled the works of his charitable foundation, just as his performance continues to excel on the field.  He established The Jonathan Vilma Foundation to support the building of a new charter school in Haiti, following the destruction of the region where over 50 schools were destroyed as a result of the 2010 earthquake, which measured at 7.0 on the Richter scale.  With help from his foundation, the Academy for Peace and Justice in Haiti opened its doors on October 10th welcoming over 700 new students, in a country where secondary education is quite scarce. Students will now receive not only a free education, but also uniforms, food, clean water, and medical care through the school's resources.  Vilma continues efforts to garner support for his foundation and will host a Celebrity Servers event at Morton's on Monday, November 7th.

For more information on the event or how you can support The Jonathan Vilma Foundation, visit www.jonathanvilmafoundation.org.

Congratulations again to Jonathan Vilma, Morton's the Steakhouse Community Player of the Week!
