Thomas Morstead hosts celebrity waiter event presented by Chevron

Dinner benefited What You Give Will Grow Foundation

New Orleans Saints Pro Bowl Punter Thomas Morstead hosted the What You Give Will Grow Dinner, a celebrity waiter event, presented by Chevron on Monday, Nov. 30 at Desi Vega's Steakhouse.

The evening featured Saints players, including Austin Johnson, Cameron Jordan, Justin Drescher, Kai Forbath, Mike McGlynn, Tim Lelito, C.J. Spiller, Josh Hill, Ryan Seymour and Brandon Coleman, led by Morstead, as celebrity waiters, a live auction and dinner courtesy of Desi Vega's Steakhouse. Auction items included a trip for four to the Atlanta game on Jan. 3, a fishing trip with Morstead and Saints running back Mark Ingram, and a Frenchie painting that was painted during the event.

Fans had the chance to spend time with current and former Saints players and other local celebrities, including Pelicans Coach Alvin Gentry, Saints director of player development Fred McAfee and Chevron's public affairs manager Leah Brown, in supporting Morstead's What You Give Will Grow Foundation.

"Supporting this initiative was definitely aligned with some of Chevron's strategic goals mainly around youth development, education and health," Brown said about Chevron presenting the event. "The turnout tonight is phenomenal and we are very happy to be here and supporting this activity."

"The main focuses of What You Give Will Grow are children's cancer initiatives and we've done some work with various hospitals in the area and we're hoping we can continue those efforts on a broader range," Morstead said. "I just feel an obligation and responsibility to help people in need here that have supported us."
