New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton will be attending a fund-raiser for the K9s For Warriors organization on Friday at the Loews Hotel on 300 Poydras St.
The event will honor K9s For Warriors graduates Army Sergeant Sheri Martinez, who is paired with Lola, and Army Sergeant Chris Spikes, who is paired with Seal. Martinez served in the Army and the Marine Corp.
Wendy Diamond's AnimalFair.com is staging the Bark Business Tour to raise money and awareness for the K9s For Warriors organization with the goal of pairing 15 returning U.S. veterans stricken with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) with 15 rescued service dogs.
The Bark Business Tour will stop in six more cities after New Orleans with the goal of raising $150,000.
"Veterans have fought selflessly for our freedom – it's our time to fight for them," Diamond said in a news release.
