Saints, Winn-Dixie team up to support Second Harvest Food Bank

Event was held on #GivingTuesday

The New Orleans Saints joined Winn-Dixie in support of Second Harvest Food Bank on Tuesday, Dec. 1.

Saints players, Saintsations, Gumbo and other fan favorites interacted with attendees, who brought five non-perishable canned good items to attend.

The date of this event marked #GivingTuesday, a global event that supports giving back. To celebrate giving back, during a press conference that kicked off the Saints Holiday Harvest, Winn-Dixie presented Second Harvest Food Bank with a $35,000 check to help with its mission to end hunger in South Louisiana.

Saints players, including Rafael Bush, Austin Johnson, Tim Hightower, Brandon Coleman, Cameron Jordan and Kai Forbath, took pictures and signed autographs.

"I think Winn-Dixie and Second Harvest have done a great job putting this together," Jordan said. "Coming together with the guys, interacting with fans that have stuck with us through this whole season so far, through the ups and downs, and they're right here with us and its pretty amazing."

This holiday season, Winn-Dixie is dedicated to supporting Second Harvest Food Bank to help serve those local families in need. It is important to Winn-Dixie to advocate for causes that beneift many of our customers, families and neighbors, and make our communities stronger, Winn-Dixie said in a news release announcing the event.
