On Sunday, April 19 over a dozen members of the New Orleans Saints  enjoyed an afternoon of bowling with local Special Olympics athletes at their 2009 Sol Bowl event at Colonial Bowling Lanes in Harahan, Louisiana!

Among the players that participated were Marques Colston, Robert Meachem, Hollis Thomas, Lynell Hamilton/Skyler Green.aspx">Skyler Green, Adrian Arrington/Glenn Pakulak.aspx">Glenn Pakulak, Zach Strief, Leigh Torrence, Jason David, Buck Ortega, Jeff Charleston, Tim Duckworth, and Lynell Hamilton along with Saints Team Ambassador, Michael Lewis. All of the players, as well as the Special Olympics athletes and other event participants, were teamed up in pairs of four and battled in at least three game sets.

Everyone in attendance had the opportunity to receive autographs and pose for pictures with all of the Saints players amidst the party-like atmosphere. Additionally, the Saints community affairs department donated several items used in the silent auction, raffle, and strike table collection, including a football autographed by the entire team & coaching staff. In total nearly $15,000 was raised for Special Olympics of Louisiana.
