On Sunday, April 18, nine members of the New Orleans Saints enjoyed an afternoon of bowling as well as a show of support for local Special Olympics athletes at their 2010 Sol Bowl event at Colonial Bowling Lanes in Harahan.

Among the players that participated in the event were WR Robert Meachem, RB Lynell Hamilton, CB Malcolm Jenkins, LB Jonathan Casillas, WR Lance Moore, FB Heath Evans, P Thomas Morstead, CB Greg Fassitt and S Chip Vaughn. Several players, as well as the Special Olympians, members from other local sports teams and media figures were teamed up in groups of four and battled in three game sets. Others players served as cheerleaders for the participants.

Everyone in attendance had the opportunity to receive autographs and pose for pictures with the players. Additionally, the Saints community affairs donated several items used in the silent auction, raffle, and strike table collection that took place on April 17. In total over $20,000 was raised for Special Olympics of Louisiana by the event.
