Wednesday is National Signing Day, meaning that all across the country, high school seniors are signing letters-of-intent to declare where they will be playing college football. In what has become an annual event, the New Orleans Saints welcomed area student-athletes and their families and coaches to come to their training complex to participate in a Signing Day ceremony and press conference in the team auditorium.

25 local prep football stars, representing six high schools and heading to 15 different colleges, were on hand to formally sign their letters and make it official where they will be heading in the fall.

The athletes were greeted by a number of familiar faces from the Saints organization, headed by team Owner Tom Benson. Mr. Benson greeted all of those in attendance and kicked off the program.

A pair of Saints players were next to address the group, with offensive Jon Stinchcomb stressing three "abilities" that will be important to the players as they begin their collegiate careers. Stinchcomb impressed upon them the importance of coachability, accountability and availability.

Following Stinchcomb to the podium was cornerback Mike McKenzie, who related some stories from his early days at the University of Memphis and encouraged the players to focus on schoolwork and following directions from their college coaches.

The following is a list of the 25 players who were on hand Wednesday to sign their letters-of-intent.
