In honor of his birthday, we celebrate with a look at legend Steven Gleason and his years on and off the field with the New Orleans Saints.

The New Orleans Saints 50/50 Raffle for the team's upcoming Monday Night Football contest against the Atlanta Falcons at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome (September 26, 2016 at 7:30 pm) will benefit Team Gleason.

The Saints use the 50/50 Central platform to allow fans an opportunity to donate to local charitable organizations or causes by participating in an electronic 50/50 raffle. At each game, half of the net proceeds collected from the raffle benefit a designated charitable organization or cause, while one lucky fan wins the remaining half of those proceeds.

Throughout the season, the designated Community Spotlight of the game will benefit from the proceeds as well as a secondary charitable organization. Tickets will be available for purchase in the following increments: 3 for $5, 10 for $10, 40 for $20, and 120 for $50. All ticket numbers will be printed on one ticket receipt, but each ticket number listed on the printout will represent one entry into the drawing. Saints 50/50 Raffle Kiosks will be positioned throughout the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on the Plaza, Club, and Terrace level concourses as well as in each of the Club rooms and Bunker Club rooms. There will also be roving sellers in brightly-colored Saints 50/50 raffle vests on all levels (including the Suite level) throughout the building as well.

Sales will begin upon doors opening (two hours prior to kickoff) and will end promptly at the conclusion of the 3rd quarter. Raffle jackpot totals will be displayed in real time, via electronic messaging during the game as well as PA announcements. One (1) lucky fan will win half of the evening's proceeds. The winning ticket number will be announced near beginning of the 4th quarter. Winner does not have to be present at the time the winning ticket number is announced. The winner will have up to 30 minutes following the conclusion of the game to redeem their ticket at Gate A Ground Level's lobby entrance of the Saints box office. Alternatively, the winner can also claim his/her ticket at the Saints facility in Metairie at 5800 Airline Drive in Metairie within 30 days of the respective game.

About Team Gleason:
The Gleason Initiative Foundation is a charitable 501c3 non-profit corporation with the mission to:

*Help provide individuals with neuromuscular diseases or injuries with leading edge technology, equipment and services. Steve and Team Gleason recently opened the Team Gleason House for innovative Living in New Orleans. It is only the second of its kind in the world. The residence is equipped with the latest in computer-operated technology to allow individuals with ALS the highest level of independence possible.

*To create a global conversation about ALS to ultimately find solutions and an end to the disease. As an example Team Gleason hosted a summit in 2013 in New Orleans that included world leaders in ALS research and cutting edge technological developers. We believe it sparked a new global conversation around solutions to ALS across the medical and technology boundaries. The result of the Summit was the largest single collaborative research effort in the ALS, Answer ALS.

*To raise public awareness towards ALS by providing and documenting extraordinary life adventures for individuals with muscular diseases or injuries. As avid adventurers, Steve and Michel Gleason wanted to continue pursuing life adventures for themselves despite Steve's diagnosis and found that many people with ALS were choosing to accept their assumed limitations. Through Steve and Michel's inspiration and tireless work, Team Gleason has helped hundreds of people with ALS experience adventures they never thought possible after their diagnosis.
