Marines Hold Combat Fitness Challenge

Saints Owner addresses participants

Marine Recruiting Station Baton Rouge hosted the Combat Fitness Challenge (CFC) at the New Orleans Saints Training Facility July 24, 2010.  The CFC is a series of events that test the physical and mental being of each participant.

Over 160 young men and women participated in the CFC.  They performed exercises such as a timed run, ammo can lifts, and an extremely demanding obstacle course.

This year marks the second time the United States Marine Corps has held the event at the New Orleans Saints Training Facility.

During the event, all training came to a halt when New Orleans Saints Owner, Tom Benson, stopped by to say a few encouraging words to those Marines, Poolees, and applicants involved in the CFC.

The Marines will host another CFC on October 16, 2010 at the New Orleans Saints Training Facility.  Anyone between the ages of 17-28 years of age who is mentally, morally, and physically qualified can participate in this event.

For more information on this event contact your local Marine Corps recruiter or visit the Marine Recruiting Station Baton Rouge fan page on Facebook.
