Jameis Winston donates $30,000 to support struggling families

Winston looks to help families and small restaurants in Tampa during COVID-19

Newly signed Saints quarterback Jameis Winston donated $30,000 dollars to support struggling families and small restaurants throughout the Tampa Bay area on May 2, 2020. This month-long meal distribution program will feed over 1,000 underprivileged families each week.

Newly signed Saints quarterback Jameis Winston donated $30,000 to help eight small restaurants in the Tampa Bay community that have been negatively affected by COVID-19. Winston and the CDC of Tampa came up with a plan to support two restaurants each week to host the event for the next four weeks.

The first event was held Saturday, May 2 at Open Café n Tampa Bay and the second location was at Konan's BBQ. Winston was on-site to distribute the meals to the families. Each event will benefit over 1,000 families each week, providing food and water to people in need.
