Game recap: Tennessee Titans beat New Orleans Saints 34-28 in OT

Five-yard TD pass from Mariota to Fasano wins it for Tennessee

The Tennessee Titans snapped the New Orleans Saints' three-game winning streak Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome with a 34-28 overtime victory.

Titans rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota engineered the game-winning drive on the first possession of overtime, ending the game on a 5-yard touchdown pass to tight end Anthony Fasano. It was Mariota's fourth touchdown pass of the game as he completed 28 of 39 attempts for 371 yards. Most of his completions went to tight end Delani Walker who had seven receptions for 95 yards and two touchdowns.

Both the Saints and Titans had a chance to end the game in regulation but the Titans' 55-yard attempt hit the cross bar and Kai Forbath's 46-yard attempt with 56 seconds left never came close.

The loss dropped the Saints to 4-5 as they were trying to get above .500 for the first time since the end of the 2013 season.

Quarterback Drew Brees had another profilic outing as he completed 28 of 39 passes for 387 yards and three touchdowns and a rushing TD. But after scoring 21 points in the first half the Saints offense stagnated and the Titans were able to put heavy pressure on Brees and limit the Saints' rushing attack. Mark Ingram had just 54 yards on 22 carries. And after converting four of their first five third-down attempts the Saints made just two of their final six. The Titans were 5 of 13 on third down.

The Saints were penalized eight times for 75 yards and lost the turnover battle 2-1.

The Saints will attempt to get back to .500 next Sunday when they play at the Washington Redskins. The Titans improved to 2-6.
