New Orleans Saints defensive ends Cameron Jordan and Akiem Hicks paid a visit to the New Orleans NFL Yet Center on Tuesday to take part in a Verizon Community Face Lift.

Verizon Wireless teamed up with the Saints and revitalized the Saints-themed room by updating the décor, purchasing new furniture and gaming consoles.

The children got their first glimpse of the revamped room when Hicks escorted them down the hallway after they finished their homework.

"This event is important to me, not only to represent my organization but because as a kid I was a part of events like this," Hicks said. "I was a part of Boys and Girls Clubs and recreations. It was somewhere that I always felt safe and that I could be involved."

Each child received a Verizon/Saints T-shirt, Saints playing cards and yearbooks before they went outside and participated in jump-rope, the quarterback challenge and football drills with Jordan and Hicks.
