Game Notes: Miami Dolphins 21, New Orleans Saints 17 | 2025 NFL Week 13

Defensive end Cameron Jordan record two sacks passing LB Derrick Thomas and tying LB Rickey Jackson for 17th all-time in NFL history

  • The Saints lost to the Dolphins 21-17 on Sunday, falling to 2-10 on the season. They return to action next Sunday when they play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium with a 12:00 p.m. CT kickoff. The contest will be regionally televised on CBS (locally on WWL 4).
  • Rookie QB Tyler Shough finished 26-of-38 for 239 yards and two touchdowns, one interception and a 91.9 passer rating. Shough also rushed for 18 yards.
  • Rookie RB Devin Neal got his first start of the season filing in for Alvin Kamara and posted 47 yards rushing and three receptions for 23 yards.
  • WR Chris Olave added four receptions for 47 yards, including a 17-yard touchdown grab . It was the 15th of his career and his fifth of the season, tying his career-high from 2023.
  • WR Devaughn Vele had his most productive game as a Saint, posting a career-high eight grabs for a career-high 93 yards and a touchdown. He also contributed on special teams, recovering an onside kick.
  • TE Juwan Johnson was reliable for the Saints offense again, racking up five receptions for 39 yards. He now has 54 receptions for 576 yards in 2025, setting new career-highs in both receptions and receiving yards.
  • LB Demario Davis led the Saints defense with nine tackles (five solo).
  • DE Cameron Jordan finished with four tackles and two sacks, taking the team lead with 6.5.
  • The two sacks pushed Jordan's total to 128 for his career, passing Pro Football Hall of Fame LB Derrick Thomas (Class of 2009) and tying Pro Football Hall of Fame LB Rickey Jackson (Saints 1981-93 and 49ers 1994-95) for 17th all-time.
  • Jordan also recorded his 30th career multi sack performance against Miami, a feat only 20 other players have ever accomplished in NFL history. It was his first multi sack game on the road since 1/1/23 at Philadelphia.
  • DE Chase Young and DL Bryan Bresee both added sacks for the Black and Gold. Young moved into second on the team behind Jordan with five takedowns.
  • CB Kool-Aid McKinstry finished with three stops, a tackle for loss on fourth down and his team-leading third interception of the season.
  • DB Terrell Burgess added seven stops (three solo) to lead the Saints secondary, in playing in place of an injured Justin Reid.
  • K Charlie Smyth made his first regular season appearance for the Saints on Sunday and drilled a 56-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to go along with a successful onside kick.
