Former New Orleans Saints offensive lineman Ross Gwinn died Tuesday

He played for the Saints in 1968

Ross Gwinn, a former New Orleans Saints offensive lineman, died Tuesday. He was 71.

Gwinn, a standout at Northwestern State, played on the Demons' unbeaten 1966 team and played professional football with the Baltimore Colts, Saints and the Canadian League's Edmonton Eskimos through 1972.

Gwinn played for the Saints in 1968.

A rosary will be conducted Thursday evening at 7 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in downtown Natchitoches . A visitation hour Friday begins at 10 a.m. with the memorial mass at 11 at Immaculate Conception.

Gwinn owned and operated a Natchitoches landscaping and nursery business, and also served in his later years as a volunteer assistant coach for the St. Mary's High School football team. He is survived by his wife, Toni, and daughters, Julie, Stacie and Paige.
